Since 1991, Peel's Nurseries Ltd. has supplied projects located from Whistler to Invermere, including residences, municipal parks, water reservoirs, stream rehabilitation, marine marsh areas, highway and commercial plantings, ski resorts and mine reclamation.
Our portion of the project was to supply shrubs and trees for habitat sections around water hazards.
Typha, Scirpus acutus, Sagittaria and Carex spp. were a part of the filtration system handling run off from Georgia Street. Plugs and bareroot were planted in May 2001 and this picture was taken in August of that year
Revegetation of this hillside included approximately sixty thousand meters of willow to create the eyebrow fences see here.
This project involved revegetation of a Fraser River habitat area under the LRT line in New Westminster.
The concept of this park was to introduce tourists to Beautiful BC. To this end, many large caliper trees were moved to the park and the paths are lined with drifts of native plants.
Native shrubs and trees line the paths which meander around the large ponds on this extensive site which receives the storm run-off from the adjacent suburban developments.
